Employment holds steady and unemployment rate declines in November
In December, employment changed very little in Québec (+8,500; +0.2%) and Canada (+10,700; +0.1% ). The unemployment rate decreased by 0.6 points in Québec (6.2%) due to the drop in the labour force (–20,300; –0.5 points); in Canada, the unemployment rate was 6.8% (–0.2 points).

The salaries of Québec government employees calculated on the basis of the benchmark jobs studied, are 13.8% lower in 2016 than those of other Québec employees working in enterprises with 200 employees or more.
