This section presents estimates of the frequency of main family names in Québec, taken from the following publication released in 2006:

Users are invited to consult the section “Source des données et standardisation des noms” on pages 7 to 9 of the publication to see the methodology used especially as regards the procedure followed for grouping family names pronounced the same way but spelled differently.
