What is the Institut de la statistique du Québec?
The Institut de la statistique du Québec, also known as Statistique Québec, is a government agency whose mission is to produce, analyse and disseminate official, objective and high quality statistical information on various aspects of Québec society.
What is the survey’s target population?
Active beekeepers in Québec with six colonies or more in 2017 make up the target population. Our sample is constituted on the basis of the agricultural operations registration slips of the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and on the basis of the Règlement sur l’enregistrement des propriétaires d’abeilles du MAPAQ.
Must I respond to the survey?
Your participation in the survey is mandatory. The information collected in the Survey on Beekeeping in Québec, 2017 is required under the Act respecting the Institut de la statistique du Québec. The mandatory nature of the survey promotes a high response rate and better quality data.
How can I know whether my personal information will remain confidential?
Any information collected and held by Statistique Québec is protected under its Act. The obligation to ensure the protection of statistical information lies at the heart of Statistique Québec’s management values. The policy governing the protection of personal and confidential information is the cornerstone on which everything Statistique Québec produces is built.
