Prepared by the Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec (OCCQ) of the Institut de la statistique du Québec with the collaboration of establishments involved in the film industry, this publication provides the information and analyses required to take the pulse of the independent film and television production industry. The 2011 edition is now in two volumes. The first provides the operating results of the year past and includes the analyses required to understand the evolution of cinema exhibition in Québec. The second volume, to be published in the fall of 2011, features analyses of the statistics on the funding, production, distribution and conservation of films in 2010. Not only does this publication review the entire film industry, but it also, given the relevance of the subjects chosen, gives a real understanding of the reality of this important part of the social and cultural life in Québec. |
