The Information and Documentation Centre (CID) is a member of the Réseau informatisé des bibliothèques gouvernementales du Québec (RIBG), which currently includes 32 libraries and documentation centers. Our documentation is listed in the CUBIQ union catalogue. You can search only in the CID collection by checking "In Branch" and selecting "Institut de la statistique du Québec".

Document loan and on-site consultation

On-site consultation is available to all by appointment and during office hours. However, on-site loans can only be made by the Institut staff. Employees of other government departments and agencies, teachers and students, researchers and the general public must make a loan request to their own library or documentation center. The duration of a loan is four weeks with two possible renewals. Restrictions may apply to certain documents.

Interlibrary loans
Interlibrary loans are possible between all libraries and documentation centers in all Canadian provinces for a period of four weeks, with the possibility of two renewals.

This service is available for the Institut de la statistique du Québec staff as well as for libraries and documentation centers (governmental, academic, municipal, or other) of any Canadian province.

Main collections

The CID has several CD and paper records from the following organizations:
Bureau de la statistique du Québec (1914 to 1998)
Institut de la statistique du Québec (1999 to today)
Statistics Canada (1915 to 2003)

The CID also holds Statistics Canada censuses from 1870 to today. However, some of the older data may be missing.

Here is an overview of the main periodicals and databases of the CID.
