| 3. The neonatal mortality rate is the number of infant deaths under 28 days divided by the number of births multiplied by 1 000. |
| 4. The early neonatal mortality rate is the number of infant deaths under 7 days divided by the number of births multiplied by 1 000. |
| 5. The late neonatal mortality rate is the number of infant deaths over 7 days and under 28 days divided by the number of births multiplied by 1 000. |
