Target population: professional writers, i.e. members of the Union des écrivaines et écrivains québécois (UNEQ).
Sample: 768 writers.
Subjects: literary production, professional and social recognition, working conditions.

Enquête sur le comportement des Québécois en matière d’activités culturelles de loisirs, 1999  (also in 1979, 1983, 1989, 1994)
Division responsible for the survey: Observatoire de la culture et des communications (with the collaboration of the ministère de la Culture et des Communications).
Type of survey: survey on cultural practices of Quebecers.
Target population: Québec population in private households excluding the Nord-du-Québec region.
1999, 1994, 1989 and 1983: 15 year olds and over.
1979: 18 year olds and over.
Sample: 1999 = 6,598; 1994 = 4,894; 1989 = 2,900; 1983 = 2,316; 1979 = 2,983.
Subjects: leisure activities, television viewing, libraries, bookstores, museums, reading, listening to music, artwork, film, theatre, dance, sports, video viewing. Starting in 1994: festivals, live entertainment shows, video games, computer use, Internet use were added. In 1999, bingo, window shopping, bowling, eating out, visiting relatives and friends, and art workshops were added.
