Surveys on Compensation

Working Conditions

Enquête québécoise sur les conditions de travail, d’emploi, de santé et sécurité du travail (EQCOTESST 2007-2008)
Type of survey: Québec survey on working, employment, and occupational health and safety conditions.
Target population: All Québec workers aged 15 and over who when called had been working at a paid job for at least eight weeks as an employee or self-employed worker with 15 or more hours per week.
Sample: Computer-assisted telephone interviews have made it possible to reach 5,071 workers.
Subjects: The data in particular will make it possible to paint a general picture of the working and employment conditions in Québec, deepen knowledge on the connections between working conditions, the health status of workers and the risk of occupational injuries related to musculoskeletal or mental health disorders, or work-related accidents, determine the impact of occupational health and safety disorders in terms of inability to work, activity limitations, and the utilization of health services, and lastly, do a follow-up with subsequent planned surveys (2012, 2017, and so forth).

Pay Equity

Étude sur les ajustements relatifs à l’équité salariale dans les établissements de 200 employés et plus au Québec en 2004
Division responsible for the survey: Labour and Compensation.
Type of survey: survey on compensation adjustments paid to Québec employees under the Pay Equity Act
Target population: establishments with 200 or more employees excluding jobs in: the Québec government, enterprises under federal jurisdiction in Québec, federal government offices, municipal government, agriculture, services incidental to agriculture, forestry operations and forestry services, fishing, hunting and construction.
Sample: 281 establishments.
Subjects: characteristics of establishments surveyed, program information (types, number of predominantly female job classes, differences in compensation, job evaluation methods and methods of valuation of differences in compensation, etc.), information on predominantly female job classes (the number of men and women, pay adjustment amount, pay adjustment review, pay adjustment, pay adjustment details, etc.).

Enquête sur la rémunération globale - municipalités locales de 10 000 et plus de population en 2001
Division responsible for the survey: Labour and Compensation.
Type of survey: survey on compensation in the municipal government sector.
Target population: workers holding benchmark jobs in the categories of managers, professionals, white-collar workers, blue-collar workers, police officers and firefighters in local municipalities with a population of 10,000 and over as at July 1, 2001.
Sample: 131 establishments.
Subjects: salaries, benefits, annual compensation, hours of work, total compensation.
