School attendance rate of young Quebecers age 20 to 24 among the highest in Canada

Québec, May 28, 2014 – In 2012, a bout half of Quebecers age 20 to 24 reported attending school full-time or part-time . The number of students which enrolled in  a vocational, college or university institution in Québec during 2012 was estimated at 257,000. Since 2008, the school attendance rate of young Quebecers tends to exceed that of young Ontarians and thereby remains among the highest in Canada.

These results reflect the continued growth of school attendance in Québec in recent years. The attendance rate has gone from 42% to 50% between 2007 and 2012─ the strongest growth recorded since the early 1990s.
