1. Based on the geographic boundaries and names of CDs in the 2011 Census. CDs correspond to geographical RCMs.
2. For the 12-month period July 1 to June 30.
3. The total number of emigrants is the sum of emigrants and the net number of persons temporarily abroad minus the number of returning emigrants. The figure may be negative.
4. Interprovincial migration estimates are derived from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax data, except for preliminary data for July 2016 to June 2017, which are based on Canada Child Benefit (CCB) program data. Due to differences in the data source and calculation method, any comparison between the preliminary and final interprovincial in-migrant and out-migrant estimates must be made with caution.
5. Variation in the number of non-permanent residents.
