1. Since April 1, 2015, following the implementation of the Act to modify the organization and governance of the health and social services network, in particular by abolishing the regional agencies, the data held by two health and social service centres (CSSS) in Montérégie (CSSS La Pommeraie and CSSS de la Haute-Yamaska) have been integrated into the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l'Estrie – Centre hospitalier de Sherbrooke (CIUSSS de l'Estrie – CHUS) and are presented with the data for the Estrie health region. For a complete list of the municipalities affected by these changes.
2. Professionals paid by the Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec, i.e. practising in Québec and having submitted at least one request for payment during the year.
3. Calculated for all resources in relation to the population on July 1st for each fiscal year. For various reasons, regional physician-to-population ratios must not be interpreted as indicators of access to medical services. The main reason is that, in a number of regions, residents receive an important part of their services from physicians in a region other than their own. This is particularly true for residents of regions that are located on the outskirts of Montréal and Québec.
