This second fascicle on the eating habits of young Quebecers presents key findings on their eating habits and nutrient intakes and focuses on the particular challenges of children aged 9 to 18. The findings were obtained from the Canadian Community Health Survey (Cycle 2.2, Nutrition) conducted by Statistics Canada in 2004. Detailed results are provided in two previous reports by the Institut: L’alimentation des jeunes québécois : un premier tour de table (2008) and Les jeunes québécois à table : regard sur les repas et collations (2010).
The target population of the survey includes all persons living in private households in the ten Canadian provinces. The Québec sample is comprised of 4,780 respondents, including 2,014 children aged 1 to 18.
