Enquête québécoise sur la santé mentale des jeunes de 6 à 14 ans, 1992

Rapport de synthèse

This report synthesizes the three volumes previously published, each one of them addressing a topic related to the mental health of young Quebecers. The report looks at the prevalence of mental disorders by age group (6-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-14 years) and the presence or absence of symptoms, the variables associated with mental disorders, and the terms of use of health services by children and teenagers.

The information comes from the Enquête québécoise sur la santé mentale des jeunes de 6 à 14 ans, conducted in 1992 by the Rivière-des-Prairies hospital and Santé Québec. The target population of the survey comprises all children and teenagers aged 6 to 14 residing in Québec. In total, 2,400 young people and their parents participated in the survey. In the case of children aged 6 to 11, their teachers (1,440) also shared their point of view.
