This publication is the fifth and last brochure on the mental health and well-being of adult Quebecers. This study is based on the Canadian Community Health Survey (Cycle 1.2 – Mental Health) conducted in 2002 by Statistics Canada.
This document provides an overview of the findings released in previous publications, and adds data on the positive and negative aspects of mental health. Comparisons between Québec and the other provinces are also presented for a number of relevant indicators. Lastly, a critical discussion is provided and suggestions are made regarding services planning and information needs.
The target population of the survey includes persons aged 15 and over living in households in the 10 Canadian provinces. The Québec sample comprises 5,332 respondents.
