Enquête québécoise sur la qualité des services de lutte contre le cancer 2013 - L'infirmière pivot en oncologie et l'expérience patient

This publication is based on data from the Enquête québécoise sur la qualité des services de lutte contre le cancer 2013. This survey provides representative and reliable data at the provincial and regional level, which help evaluate specific aspects of the reform of the Québec cancer treatment system.

First, this publication provides a statistical picture of patients treated for cancer in 2010 who were assigned an oncology pivot nurse (OPN). Then, it examines whether having a pivot nurse is associated with a positive care experience. To that end, it studies the relationship between the assignment of OPNs and the perception of the quality of the care and services received by patients, both overall and for various aspects (accessibility; coordination and continuity; emotional support, information, communication and education; and respect for patient preferences).
