The overall objective of the Québec Survey on Activity Limitations, Chronic Diseases and Aging, 2010-2011 (EQLAV) is to provide representative statistical data at the provincial and regional levels on the use of health and social services, as well as on unmet needs in this respect. Three population groups were studied: 1) people aged 15 and over with a disability; 2) people aged 15 and over with a long-term health condition; and 3) people aged 65 and over with or without a disability or a long-term health condition.
This first volume presents the survey’s main methodological parameters, including sample design, data collection and data processing. It also examines the age and sex structure of people aged 65 and over, the disabled population by disability type and severity, and finally, the population reporting one or several long-term health conditions.
