Since its coming into force, the Pay Equity Act has mobilized time and resources and continues to do so among all the actors in the labour market, including the Québec government. The updating of this legislation in the spring of 2009 has, more than ever, put pay equity in the forefront.
This study paints a picture of the pay equity adjustments in the Québec administration and analyses their impact on the comparison of the compensation of Québec government employees with that of employees in the other labour market sectors.
With this report, both labour and management in the Québec government and the actors in the labour market as well as the general public will have at their disposal relevant and current findings with regard to the impact of the Pay Equity Act on the Québec administration.
