Summary of responsibilities

The Maintenance carpenter performs various tasks including the repair and modification of structures, finishing and other work, according to plans and specifications, or builds, modifies and repairs cabinetwork and decorative objects.

Main duties: using various tools, builds repairs and maintains wood or metal structures or structural components, and sets and dismantles forms for concrete.

Education requirement

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with a specialization in carpentry and woodworking, or the equivalent recognized by the appropriate authority

Condition of employment

Preferably, a competency certificate in carpentry and woodworking

Minimum experience generally required by level of complexity
