Summary of responsibilities

The Maintenance painter performs various tasks related to the painting, staining and varnishing of interior and exterior surfaces, and to the laying of resilient floor coverings (carpets, tiles).

Main duties: prepares surfaces by filling holes and cracks, or by sanding with abrasives, chemical paint-removers, scrapers, blowtorches or other means; prepares, mixes and applies paints, stains and varnishes.

Education requirement

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with a specialization in commercial and residential painting, or the equivalent recognized by the appropriate authority

Condition of employment

Preferably, a competency certificate in painting and laying of resilient floor coverings

Minimum experience generally required by level of complexity
